Fiasco London.com » Festivals – Reviews and info http://www.fiascolondon.com Fiasco London Thu, 29 Jul 2010 15:33:46 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.8.4 en hourly 1 Fiasco’s Glastonbury best bits http://www.fiascolondon.com/2010/07/14/fiascos-glastonbury-best-bits/ http://www.fiascolondon.com/2010/07/14/fiascos-glastonbury-best-bits/#comments Wed, 14 Jul 2010 15:38:47 +0000 Head Chef http://www.fiascolondon.com/?p=460 Glastonbury 2010 was a pretty special weekend this year, not because it was the 40th anniversary or because England were playing on the big screens, but because the weather was fantastic and everyone was doubly up for a good party.  It was the first time in a few years that a Fiasco artist wasnt performing, which led us to believe we would be able to spend more time partying and less time staying sober.  That was exactly the case.  Fiasco base camp was in the caravan area, bit of a trek, granted, but worth it for the added space, and having a vw campervan.  Much of the weekend is a blur, with flashback of dancing in dance world, drinking behind the john peel arena (thanks to PRS), chilling out for hours in The Park in the sun.  Acts wise, you knew what to expect in Dance world with Fatboy Slim delivering his usual festival mind blowing club party to the masses.  Pyramid stage highlights for us were without a doubt Snoop  d o to the doube G, THE MUSE who had the most unbelievable live sound, and Glasto favourite Sea Sick Steve.  Mumford and Sons provided an electric atmosphere over on the John Peel stage, and Mundo jazz provided some much needed comedy at midnight over in the Circus area.  The real highlight for us, is without doubt the night areas – Namely Arcadia, Block 9 and ShangriLa.  Where else on earth does a rave look like Hell ?

What a crazy week. We played at the Arctic disco on sunday night with Kissy sell out – this was an igloo at the top of the mountain packed to the icy roof with ravers. amazing set, definitely one of the most fun sets we have done. Then the rest of the week was just partying. The street party was incredible. All kinds of outfits – i saw smurfs, Osama bin laden, showers, policemen, plenty of neon – basically nothing surprised me. There was even one person dressed as an arcade machine. Anyway good times. By friday we had recovered, and played our 2nd set of the week at the Racket club. This was a wicked set aswell with some pretty crazy visuals, ranging from fire to sharks in the sea and space invaders. All in all a truly mental week, if you missed, make sure you get there next year. its worth it.
